Amazon launched a new option for Amazon Associates and it’s one of the best promotional tools from Amazon.com. I used Amazon’s recommended widget for a while but my results were shocking, 0.7% CTR and 2 sales on more than 400 clicks.
These Native Shopping Ads are an updated version of that old Recommended widget option.
About Native Shopping Ads
Amazon launched these new Native Shopping Ads in order to help you generate more income through its Affiliates program. You can add highly relevant recommendations to your blog or niche site using these ads.
You will also start getting more sales from your mobile visitors because these Shopping Ads are 100% Responsive and they are looking great over the phone. You only need to take the Shopping Ad code and paste it anywhere on your site.
How to find these new ads on the Amazon dashboard?
Once you log in to your Amazon Affiliate dashboard you will see this new menu item called: Native Shopping Ads.
If you click there it will take you to the Shopping ads dashboard where you can create new ad codes.
You can watch their video presentation on these new Shopping ads, and you can read more about it on their official page.
On the right side of their Native ads presentation, you can find the Create Ad Code button.
It will show you a small drop-down menu where you can choose Recommendation Ads or Search Ads.
We are using Recommendation Ads on our site because they are better looking and more effective for our visitors. I will show you both options in action right now.
Search results option – Native Shopping Ads
Search ads are great if you have a website where a lot of users are using a search bar or some Shopping website where users are constantly buying items.
This option is similar to the Recommendation option, it only has a search bar above the products grid.
And one more thing that’s different from the Recommendation option, here you need to choose one default keyword for your default product list.
So these products in the screenshot are not Related products based on your site content, you choose which category of products to show.
In this example above I used ‘Apple Watch’ as a keyword.
Amazon Recommendation Ads Review
This option is one of the best things ever made for Amazon affiliates. You can boost your income by 10-50%, you just need to properly set your Recommendation ads.
If you decide to use this Related products option, the only thing you need to do is to Choose your default category and that’s it, just grab your code and you’re done.
What is a default category?
If your page is in the Fitness niche you can choose Fitnesswear as your default category because Related ads will most likely show Fitnesswear but it will probably show some Fitness books or DVDs too, and they cost only $1-$10.
So it’s much better to send people to some $200 shoes or clothing product rather than a $10 DVD or a book.
If you want to maximize your revenue choose some category that’s closest to your niche.
Now just take Ad code and paste it anywhere on your site. Also, check my new Amazon Mobile Popover Ads Review.
My Experience with Native Shopping Ads
Amazon notified me about these new Shopping ads back in May and I went to the Amazon dashboard and created my first ad code. I used this code for 10 days on 3 fashion niche websites, and the results were amazing. I got 80 clicks on my Related products in one day and I sold 5 items on the very first day of using Shopping ads.
I sold 7 items the next day, and my average Conversion rate was 2.9% for the next 30 days. I replaced all my Adsense codes with Related products and Shopping Ads are bringing me 25% more income than Adsense. I would recommend Native Shopping Ads to every niche site owner because you can easily boost your income by 10-30%.

This is interesting. I noticed for the last couple of months that my dad since revenue is increasing. Is it possible that so many publishers are switching To Amazon native ads that it is hurting the inventory the available publishers and therefore more competition for ad space?
Yap..
Just to be sure will the price displayed updated automatically? or should we? I think this question is previously answered but, want to confirm as this is the case up to now.
Yes it’s updated in live time.
Do you have to generate the code over and over again for every blog post? Or can I make the code once and then use that same code at the bottom of every post? It’s really not clear from their FAQ.
You can use the same code once and it will apply on all your pages
i added the code in my site.. but its showing random result. can u help ?
You can choose what you want to show in code creator.
Hello.
Using Amazon Native Shopping Ads, the prices of the products, are updated every 24hs ?
I am asking this, cause i read that we can’t have product prices in our site, since they are not updated.
Thanks
They are updated every 2-3 hours.
Well, not exactly working. It is inserting Amazon link and photos under every post. I only want it under one post. Do you know how I can do that? Sorry to be such a nuisance, but I studies all the settings on Quick Adsense, tried just the individual post one, but it still shows the code.
Yayyy, I got it to work. I had to take the ad out of the sidebar. It will not place in both the sidebar and a post.
Yes, I did that. The link works fine on the sidebar.
Any other suggestions?
Also just tried downloading Quick Adsense, still no code converted to link.
Maybe you are using the wrong link.
Try creating new text sidebar and paste it there and check if they show you any ad.
Added User and Permissions after this. Tried it again. Nada. Still just the code, no link. This is driving me crazy…
18. Click on Users in sidebar, add your name (no spaces) and a password, Save.
19. Go to Permissions and enable 1-10 of them by clicking boxes and save.
20. Go to Amazon Affiliate Program, Native Shopping Ads
21. Set up your code
22. Copy and paste into a post on your website
Wow. Really? Why don’t they tell you that? Good grief. Thank YOU!
Well look, if you put that code in sidebar you can see your ads. But posts are different, so you need this plugin.
I have tried and tried to make the code for Native Shopping Ads work. I can paste it into a post, but in the Preview, it still shows up as Code. Any suggestions?
You have to install some plugin like Easy Adsense or Quick Adsense and insert your code through that plugin.
Hi Adrian,
Thanks for your article. I want to use this method for adult niche to ads sex toys of amazon. So Does Amazon accept adult niche?
Hopeful, I can receive your answer asap.
Thanks again.
Gary
If you can buy Sex toys there you can sell them too.
Thanks for your reply.
Hey Adrian,
You are ranking at 1st position for “amazon associate native ads review” in Google. Congrats for this. I have a site which is currently earning around 300-400 a month from Amazon (All organic traffic from long tails). I just saw a tab in Associate dashboard about ‘Native Ads’ and was searching for review. Glad I found your review with positive feedback as I was skeptical about implementing it. I’ve added the script on my most visited post which is pulling most of the total earnings. I will test it for few days and according to results will implement sitewide. Is there any way in reporting section where it tells from where the links are coming? I mean does it mention about native ads or something like that? Or is there a way where I can use separate tracking ID for native ads?
Cheers.
You can build one separate tracking ID for these ads.
You can find reports for these ads in: Reports->Link Type Reports->Native Shopping Ads (under Omkase links).
You can make even more money if you add new Mobile Ads for mobile users on your website, read my article about them
Haha what a coincidence. I’m actually reading mobile popover review atm….Well I’m gonna give it a try too. Thanks for the suggestions.
Cheers.
Thank you for reading.
Thanks for this article. I wonder do you know how to serve native shoppings ads to different amazon countries? I know we have to have different affiliate for each amazon location. We are using wordpress and a plugin that can do geo location can do the trick if we copy in the js of the ads that are served by amazon. However we have to place the js in the php templates that way.
1. Is this feature of native shopping ads around in uk amazon market?
2. Do you know about a plugin for WordPress that can assist in this?
Thanks Rene
Hey Rene, this option is available with only one country, and I don’t think that there is a way to do some geo-location redirecting, sorry.
I think the best would be to geo-filter these ads so that you only serve them for your traffic from US. You can use DFP to implement it.
You can, but if your website is already GEO targeted you don’t need one.
