Amazon launched a new option for Amazon Associates and it’s one of the best promotional tools from Amazon.com. I used Amazon’s recommended widget for a while but results were shocking, 0.7% CTR and 2 sales on more than 400 clicks.
These Native Shopping Ads are an updated version of that old Recommended widget option.
About Native Shopping Ads
Amazon launched these new Native Shopping Ads in order to help you generate more income through its Affiliates program. You can add highly relevant recommendations to your blog or niche site using these ads.
You will also start getting more sales from your mobile visitors because these Shopping Ads are 100% Responsive and they are looking great over the phone. You only need to take Shopping Ad code and paste it anywhere on your site.
How to find new ads in Amazon dashboard?
When you login to your Amazon Affiliate dashboard you will see this new menu item named: Native Shopping Ads.
Click there and it will take you to Shopping ads dashboard where you will be able to create new ad codes.

On the right side of this presentation you can find Create Ad Code button (yellow).
It will show you small drop down menu, here you can choose to use Recommendation Ads or Search Ads.
I used Recommendation Ads on my site because they are way better looking and more effective for my visitors.

Search results option – Native Shopping Ads
Search ads are great if you have website where lot of users use your search bar, or for some Shopping website where users often buy something.
This option is similar to Recommendation option, it only has Search bar above products grid.
And one more thing is different with this one, you need to choose default keyword for default product list.
So these product in this screenshot are not Related products based on your site content, you have to choose one keyword and products with that keyword will be listed by default.
In this example above I chose ‘Apple Watch’ keyword.
Amazon Recommendation Ads Review
This option is one of the best things ever made for Amazon affiliates. You can boost your income by 10-50%, you just need to properly set your Recommendation ads.
If you decide to create this Related products code, only thing you need to do is to Choose default category if you want and that’s it, just grab your code and you’re done.
What is a default category in this code?
If your page is about Fitness machines you should choose Fitness machines as your default category, because Related ads will most likely show Fitness machines but it will probably show some Fitness books or DVD-s too, and they cost only 1-10$.
So it’s better to send them to some 1000$ machine than some 10$ book.
If you want to maximize your revenue choose some category that’s closest to your niche.

My Experience with Native Shopping Ads
When Amazon notified me about their new Shopping ads I went to Amazon dashboard and I created my new ad code. I used this code for 10 days on 12 fashion niche sites of mine, and my results were amazing. I got 80 clicks on my Related products in one day and I sold 5 items on the very first day of using Shopping ads.
I sold 11 items the next day, and my average Conversion rate was 2.9% for the next 30 days. I replaced all my Adsense codes with Related products and Shopping Ads made me 25% more income.
