What is a Niche?
So let’s write down some of the most popular niches: Fitness, Fashion, Cars, Making money, Porn, Tech…
There are two types of niche sites that you will be interested in, General and Micro niche sites.
General Niche sites
A general niche site is a website that writes about multiple categories inside of a bigger niche, for example, a Fashion blog. If you want to create a general niche site you will need a general knowledge of your Niche.
For example, if you want to start a Tech blog, you need to know a lot of things regarding tech, like new iPhones and their Pros and Cons, you should know about PC speakers too, about Laptop parts and tons of other things, you should be an expert in this field if you want to create a successful general niche site.
Or, you can start working together with someone else, like your friend, so everyone can cover different categories and topics and you can have a high-quality site with all sub-niches covered.
Micro Niche sites
A micro niche is basically one sub-category of the niche, for example, let’s say you are writing about SSD discs, that’s a tech micro-niche:
Tech -> Laptops -> Laptop parts -> Laptop Memory -> SSD Discs.
So if you know everything about SSD Discs, and you create a website, and write high-quality articles on that topic, that would be a perfect micro niche site.
General and Micro Niche site examples:
Micro niche example: http://runrepeat.com/
This site is writing reviews on running shoes only, so it’s a Running Shoes Micro Niche site.
General Niche Example: http://www.onlineshoes.com/
This site is writing articles and reviews for all types of shoes, so it’s a general Shoes Niche site.
Should I start a General or a Niche website?
If you have enough knowledge to cover everything inside your niche, go with the General niche site.
Why? Because you will have more topics to write about.
If you take some micro-niches like “PC keyboards”, for example, you will have a limited number of topics, you limit yourself to the “keyboard micro topics”, you can never review a mouse, PC monitor, or some other PC hardware or software.
If you create a general PC niche website on the other side, you can write on 50+ other topics, like games, PC parts, RAM, coolers, crypto, repairs, and you get more visitors, and more money in the end, because you will be able to create more content.
General niche sites are more profitable for sure, but sometimes, when you are an expert in your micro-niche, you should go with it, because you can make some great profit in the micro-niche too.
How Much Money can a Niche site Make?
You can make a lot of money if you choose a profitable niche that you actually love writing about and the one you have some actual knowledge on.
Your niche should be something you will be passionate about and readers will visit your site and feel that you know what you are talking about in your articles.
How much money you make from your niche site is totally up to you, your niche choice, and your article quality.
If you are really into your niche, let’s say you have dogs and you are testing and buying dog food for the last 10 years, you can create a website and write about dog food and you can start selling 1000 bags of dog food per day and start making $5,000 per day in profit, but if you are not into your niche, for example, if you write about RC helicopters and you never actually saw or used one, your site will probably fail.
So, pick the right niche, create a nice website design, and write amazing articles, and you will become super successful in your niche, trust me.
